“Dating is already impossible and now people are dying…” Peacock has revealed the first look teaser trailer for a fun new sex comedy series called Laid, created by Nahnatchka Khan (Always Be My Maybe, Totally Killer) and Sally Bradford McKenna. Yes it’s based on the Australian series of the same name (from 2011) and it will be streaming on Peacock in the US in December later this year. A weird time to launch this? A woman finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline to confront her complicated past in order to move forward. Well, that sounds awkward! “The premise of Laid — a woman discovers all of her exes are dying in mysterious ways — seemed exactly what we were looking for: a F–ed-up rom-com.” Laid stars Stephanie Hsu as Ruby and Zosia Mamet as her best friend AJ. The main cast also includes Michael Angarano and Tommy Martinez, and exciting guest stars like Finneas O’Connell, Andre Hyland, Olivia Holt, David Denman, Chloe Fineman, and John Early. It’s truly the love story for our times.” Laid is a series co-created and showrun and written by Nahnatchka Khan (director of the films Always Be My Maybe and Totally Killer) and Sally Bradford McKenna. Based on the Australian series also called “Laid” created by Kirsty Fisher and Marieke Hardy. With writing by Abbey Caldwell, Jeff Chiang, Billy Finnegan, Ria Sardana, David Smithyman.
