NFL alums Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman are all for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce taking the next step in their relationship.
“He’s a superstar and he’s dating Taylor Swift,” Edelman, 38, said on the Thursday, October 24, episode of the pair’s “Dudes on Dudes” podcast. “And they might have a kid. That would be a great kid.”
Gronkowski, 35, then chimed in, adding that Swift, 34, and Kelce, 35, “should have a kid” one day.
“What, would that kid be performing, like, having eight catches a game and then [at] halftime, he’s doing the halftime show?” Gronkowski speculated. “In, like, 24 years? So, it would be like the new Ryan Williams, you know how he’s 17 years old at Alabama? So, their kid would be, like, 14 in college [and] they just surpass middle school because he’s so smart.”
According to Edelman, Swift and Kelce’s potential offspring would also be able to “do a duet with Quavo right after” classes end.
“He’ll be in the league at 18 and then singing and performing,” Gronkowski gushed. “Dang, they need to have a kid if that’s the case. They gotta.”
Swift and Kelce, both longtime masters in their respective careers, started dating in 2023 following a missed connection at her Eras Tour concert and a name-drop on his “New Heights” podcast.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift recalled in her 2023 TIME Person of the Year profile. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for because we got to get to know each other.”
Swift and Kelce publicly debuted their romance at one of his Kansas City Chiefs games in September 2023. She sat in a private box with Kelce’s friends and mother Donna.
“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,” Swift quipped to TIME. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care.”
She continued, “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
Swift has continued to attend as many of Kelce’s football games as she can amid her Eras Tour schedule — the tour wraps for good in December after shows in Louisiana, Indiana and Canada — and other professional commitments. Kelce also supports Swift, becoming a staple in the Eras VIP tent whenever he has time off from the NFL.
Once the Eras Tour ends, Swift is looking forward to her future with Kelce by her side.
“Taylor and Travis are very committed and serious about their future,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in September. “Taylor is ready for the next era of her life. She knows it will be special.”
