Joe Satriani and Steve Vai have joined forces to form the Satchvai Band and will tour the UK and Europe in 2025.
The two guitar virtuosos are long-time friends and have been touring in the US in 2024 with their two respective bands, but next year, they will play together in the same group for the first time.
The ‘Surfing With The Hydra’ tour will kick off in York’s Barbican on June 13, and they will take in London, Glasgow, Wolverhampton and Manchester before heading to mainland Europe.

Satriani and Vai released the six-minute track ‘The Sea Of Emotion, Pt. 1’ in March this year, which sees them trading their trademark classic rock solos back and forth. Listen to the song above.
Satriani’s latest album is 2022’s ‘The Elephants Of Mars’, while Vai released ‘Vai/Gash’ in 2023, a record first recorded in 1991 but never previously released.
Also last year, Vai revealed that he had enough material recorded with Ozzy Osbourne for a full album, although he does not own the rights to be able to release it.
He also appeared in Studio 666 in 2022, a film starring members of Foo Fighters as fictional versions of themselves. “The movie is just off the charts gory and funny”, Vai said of his experience shooting the movie. “It was a glorious blast of demonic shred pleasure and when I saw it in the theatre”.
