Did Hallmark+ Renew The Chicken Sisters For Season 2?
Fans have been wondering about the future of The Chicken Sisters. On Thursday, Production Weekly listed The Chicken Sisters Season 2. However, despite this series renewal information in this prestigious industry publication, Hallmark has not made any sort of announcement about the future of this series. Moreover, Lisa Hamilton Daly, the EVP of Programming at the network is no longer there as they eliminated her position.
This was Daly’s project. It is possible that the news was sent out before her position was eliminated. Moreover, Hallmark Media CEO Mike Perry may make a different decision on the future of the streamer and the series. Therefore, this announcement is not set in stone until Hallmark makes a formal announcement, and they start filming.
Where Did Season 1 Of Hallmark+ Series Leave Off?
When The Chicken Sisters Season 1 ended, it ended with a lot of change. Some of this change was resolved, but some set up a second season. What happened? Firstly, after Mimi’s and Frannie’s stopped being rivals at the end of Kitchen Clash. Most of all, Gus and Nancy were now friends. This ending seemed to start the beginning of a close friendship. Gus’s multiple sclerosis diagnosis could be a big part of this friendship and an opportunity for Gus to grow.
Also, the two restaurants continue their rivalry. Frank Jr. represents the corporate sort of franchise that he always dreamed of. The women are running the restaurant which is a small town small business.
When show create Annie Mebane spoke to Deadline, she also shared more about her vision should there be Season 2. “The show is about family and sisterhood and the complicated relationship between these people and their healing, but it’s also about a rivalry between chicken restaurants. Once the Mimi’s and Frannie’s rivalry is done, there’s a new rivalry, between mom and pop, corporate versus franchise.”
She then pointed out that we don’t know much about Mae and Amanda’s parentage.
Hallmark fans, would you like to see The Chicken Sisters Season 2? What would you like to see happen in a second season?
