Marvel Studios confirmed Faran Tahir’s return to the MCU as Raza in the upcoming Vision Quest series on Disney+. Tahir, who first appeared as the leader of the Ten Rings in Iron Man, joins Paul Bettany’s Vision in this WandaVision spinoff. The show will explore Vision’s journey to regain his memory while facing threats from familiar MCU villains, including Ultron.
Faran Tahir to reprise his Iron Man villain role in Vision Quest series
Faran Tahir is confirmed to reprise his role as Raza, the leader of the Ten Rings terrorist organization, in Marvel’s Vision Quest series for Disney+, as reported by Deadline.
Tahir originally portrayed the character in the 2008 film Iron Man, where Raza played a significant role in Tony Stark’s kidnapping, a pivotal event in the MCU’s origin story. This will be Tahir’s first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since the franchise’s launch with Iron Man.
Marvel created Vision Quest as a spinoff from WandaVision, focusing on Vision, played by Paul Bettany. The series will follow Vision as he regains his memories and humanity after his resurrection in WandaVision.
Thanos originally destroyed Vision in Avengers: Infinity War, but he returned in a new form in WandaVision. James Spader reprises his role as Ultron, while Todd Stashwick joins the cast in an undisclosed role. Terry Matalas, known for Star Trek: Picard, serves as the showrunner.
The return of Raza could signal a renewed focus on the Ten Rings organization. The group played a key role in Iron Man and was later explored in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. A deleted scene from Shang-Chi referenced Raza, hinting that the Ten Rings may remain significant in future MCU stories.
Tahir has a diverse acting career with roles in films like Star Trek and Elysium. He’s also appeared in TV shows such as The Old Man, Scandal, and Prison Break. His return to the MCU adds another major project to his filmography.
Marvel’s Vision Quest is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
