Kim Kardashian’s plan to build a dream mansion in Palm Springs has hit another setback. The project, which has faced multiple delays since it began, has now been delayed due to unpaid construction fees. The $6.3 million property, which Kim bought in 2019 with her ex-husband Kanye West, was supposed to be a luxurious retreat. However, construction has been slowed by an outstanding balance of $5,299.50 in fees.
Kim Gets The Mansion In Her Divorce
After Kim and Kanye’s divorce, the property was transferred to her sole trust in 2023. Kim filed a new permit for the mansion project in October 2024 after previous delays. However, according to La Quinta building permits, the project still hasn’t passed due to unpaid fees. these fees include $752.70 for dusting mitigation, $2,266.35 for erosion control, and $2,280.45 for precise grading plans.
The mansion, which will be 20,310 square feet, is supposed to have seven bedrooms, a pool, and a spa. Originally, the construction was expected to cost $8 million, but the estimated budget has since been reduced to $2.1 million. Kim’s dream mansion is still far from finished, and the delays have frustrated both her and those involved in the project.
The city requested additional information back in 2022 about fire safety and pool code requirements, leading to the first round of delays. Despite submitting new plans, the project faced more issues, including the expiration of building permits. Kim filed for a new permit, but the construction continued to face obstacles.
Kim Has More Renovations In The Making
A meeting has been scheduled for February 20, 2025, to address these delays and the unpaid fees, with hopes of getting the project back on track. Kim has expressed excitement about the property and even posted about it on social media in 2023. She shared that she was working with the famous architect Tadao Ando. She called the opportunity to work with him an “honor” and a “dream project” that she had been planning for two years.
Kim also has other renovation projects in the works, including making changes to her Hidden Hills home. This includes tearing down walls, including what appeared to be her daughter Chicago’s room.
While the delays continue to mount, Kim Kardashian’s determination to see her dream mansion completed remains strong. However, a representative for Kim has not yet responded to requests for comments about the ongoing construction issues. Kim doesn’t know how long the delay will last this time. Hopefully, they can solve all the issues and get back to building it.
For now, fans will have to wait and see if Kim’s Palm Springs mansion will ever become the stunning home she envisions. Do you think her mansion will be filled with unique rooms?
