Viewers watched a number of America’s Next Top Model contestants compete to be crowned each season’s winner over the years. Recently, a trailer has been dropped, looking at what happened beyond the cameras during the competition series. A new docuseries promises to share emotional and intense moments from the show, including a tearful share from one of the season’s winners.
America’s Next Top Model Has Become The Subject Of A Recent Netflix Docuseries
Premiering back in 2003, America’s Next Top Model is a reality series that saw aspiring models compete for the show’s eponymous title. Series creator Tyra Banks famously hosted the show. Viewers watched the reality series on a number of networks, including UPN, The CW, and VH1, with it coming to an end in 2018.
Over the years, the reality series has been the subject of various criticisms and controversies. Recently, the series has become the subject of a Netflix docuseries, Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, exploring what happened behind the scenes on the show.

In a recently dropped trailer, viewers see Tyra Banks, Miss J, Jay Manuel, Nigel Barker and various past contestants. Together, they have discussed the multiple controversies surrounding the show.
One such contestant appearing in the trailer was Danielle “Dani” Evans. Originally from Arkansas, Evans previously appeared during the sixth season and was ultimately crowned the season’s winner. Since then, she has gone on to make guest appearances during later seasons.
At The End Of The Trailer, Tyra Banks Herself Shared That Things Were ‘Intense’
During her time on the show, Evans shared that she had to undergo extensive cosmetic work to treat a gap in her teeth that had been noticed by Banks. While recounting her time on the show, Evans could be seen in tears, describing moments as “horrific” and “so f—ed up.” At one point, she shared, “It’s a TV show to you guys, but this is my life.”
Evans’ story will be one of the various happenings touched on in the docuseries. As Banks noted early on, “I haven’t really said much. But, now it’s time… I wanted to fight against the fashion industry.” In the trailer, she shared a desire to fight standards in the industry, including contestants from different backgrounds and body types.

As the trailer came to a close, Banks also warned that stories could take an ominous turn. She noted that the show “was very, very intense, but, you guys were demanding it. So, we kept pushing more and more and more.”
A trailer for the docuseries shared the tagline, “Reality Check exposes the show’s complicated legacy and asks a provocative question: how far are we willing to go for entertainment?” The series, which will come in three parts, will drop on Netflix on February 16, 2026.
