Hailey Bieber put a sultry twist on more classic evening dressing, posing in a backless white gown on Instagram. She accessorized with a baby blue fuzzy bag and matching light blue eyeshadow. “🦋🦋🐬🎀🎀🎀,” she captioned the carousel of photos, featuring her posing at different angles in the look. Over 970,000 people liked the photo in its first seven hours being up.
In May, Bieber gave one of her most extensive interviews of the year to ELLE UK to mark Rhode skincare launching in the U.K. The outlet asked her what her feelings on social media comparison culture are now.
“As humans, I think we all struggle with comparing ourselves,” she started. “We all have insecurities and I think sometimes social media can can heighten those insecurities. I saw this quote the other day that I really loved, ‘Comparison kills personality.’ I love that because it’s so true, it makes you think that you have to be someone else or something else, when really your individuality is so special and important. That’s something that I try to focus on and I think that helps me stay in a good space.”
She also touched on her viewpoint regarding aging, particularly when it comes to her beauty line. “I totally understand how the culture of anti-aging can make you feel bad,” she said. “It definitely does. It definitely can. That language is definitely not going to be part of our vocabulary at Rhode. Our products are about skin health at any age. I believe in embracing aging—I don’t think the goal should be to continuously look younger.”
