Every fashion fan knows that after the red carpet comes the afterparty, and many an outfit change. While the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet was awash with dramatic gowns (we’re looking at you, Florence Pugh), sparkling makeup (hello, Jodie Turner-Smith), and plunging necklines (courtesy of Lily James), the afterparties offered a chance for celebrities to let loose and swap ballgowns for ensembles they could bust a move in. And this year’s fashion parade did not disappoint.
“Bridgerton“‘s Simone Ashley looked effortlessly cool in her sparkling outfit. Styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray, her Alexandre Vauthier look was giving Studio 54 disco vibes in an ultramodern way. The actor attended the British Vogue and Tiffany & Co. Fashion and Film Party at the exclusive Annabel’s club in London, before hotfooting it to Chiltern Firehouse for the Netflix party, and she certainly brought the glamour. Crystal strands covered her top half in a waistcoat shape to expose her torso, while the risqué top was teamed with high-waisted black balloon bottoms. She carried a Marina Raphael crystal box bag and accessorized with Alessandra Rich drop earrings.
Hairstylist Peter Lux blow-dried her hair straight with a middle part, while makeup artist Nikki Wolff added an indie-sleaze edge in the form of sultry smoky eyes, defined eyeliner, and a touch of green shimmer. There’s no denying who was diamond of the season at the BAFTA afterparties.
