In London, editors, buyers and fashion lovers continued to show their support for the fashion industry in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
With Britain — and the rest of the world — mourning the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, London Fashion Week Spring 2023 almost didn’t happen. But when the British Fashion Council and a collective of designers decided that LFW would forge ahead, fashion lovers arrived in droves to support local talent.
It makes sense. London has long been known as a city where emerging designers can thrive, and no one wanted the hard work and passion of established or budding labels to go to waste. So, guests proceeded to queue outside big shows like Christopher Kane and JW Anderson, but they were just as supportive of Chopova Lowena’s first runway show and Dilara Findikoglu’s evocative collection reminiscent of early Alexander McQueen.
These attendees brought creativity and individuality with them, giving style inspiration that will last well into next season. Whether they opted for ruffled dresses, structured blazers or frayed denim, they made a statement.
