This month, Hulu is packing childhood favorites like The Good Son. While serving us underrated gems like The Possession. They are also overflowing when it comes to new genre shows like Krapopolis. Because the streamer is coming in hot this Halloween season, it was super difficult to pick just a handful of titles to tell you about. However, I persisted and am here with what I think is a pretty sick line-up.
The Other Black Girl: Complete Season 1
Nella is the only Black person working at a publishing firm. That is until they hire another Black girl, and things get weird. As someone who has worked and quit many PWIs, I see the comedy and horror of this situation. I am here for the giggles and the mystery. I have been excited about this show since TikTok told me about it in August. All 10 episodes drop on September 13th, and I will be ready to binge.
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Women prisoners overthrow the system in this well-known post-apocalyptic wasteland. This is the only Mad Max movie I will be speaking to for the rest of this lifetime. Not only does it offer Charlize Theron kicking ass and taking no names, but her squad also includes Tom Hardy and Zoë Kravitz. I haven’t seen this movie since it was in theaters so I’m happy to finally get to revisit it. I’m sure it hits even harder after everything we’ve been through in the 8 years since it came out.

No One Will Save You (2023)
An anxious homebody must battle an alien in her home. I want to see this in part because so little information is out there about this sci-fi home invasion situation. There’s only one photo, zero trailers, and I only heard about it by accident. This movie doesn’t want to be found so of course, I need it in front of my eyeballs the second it hits Hulu. We have seen a lot of stuff get tossed onto streamers without any publicity over the years, but this time, it feels personal.
Sanctuary (2022)
A wealthy man tries to end his relationship with his dominatrix but finds out that’s easier said than done. After not being able to secure a screener for almost a year, I will finally get to see this intriguing movie. Glad that the powers that be at Hulu are coming through one more time. I hope it makes the people who clutch their pearls at nudity in films so uncomfortable they cry on TikTok again. I am ready for whatever this movie is, and I cannot wait to check it out.
