Roxanne Benjamin’s XX, Southbound and Body at Brighton Rock all set her a space within the genre. She is one of those directors that we eagerly await new material from. Her latest film, There’s Something Wrong With the Children looks to bring the director, writer, and producer full circle with a very tense and simultaneously fun-looking picture.
The synopsis for There’s Something Wrong With the Children goes like this:
When Margaret (Wainwright) and Ben (Gilford) take a weekend trip with longtime friends Ellie (Crew) and Thomas (Santos) and their two young children (Guiza and Mattle), Ben begins to suspect something supernatural is occurring when the kids behave strangely after disappearing into the woods overnight.
The film stars an ensemble cast of Alisha Wainwright (“Raising Dion”), Zach Gilford (The Purge: Anarchy), Amanda Crew (“Silicon Valley”), and Carlos Santos (“Gentefied”).
