American Horror Story is one of the best horror series to come out in recent memory. It has served as a yearly tradition for over a decade and represents the fall season for many horror fans. However, as the series progressed, some of the plotlines were less than stellar. This was only worsened when key members of the cast left the show in later years.
One such star, Jessica Lange (King Kong), was recently asked if she would be willing to return to the series. Lange replied, “Oh Christ, no,”. This surprised some fans of the series as Lange was a beloved cast member and American Horror Story netted her 2 Emmys for her time. Although this comment sent the internet into an uproar, it isn’t a devious as it seems.
It doesn’t sound as though Lange has any animosity toward the show, she is simply out of the loop. During this interview, Lange explained her reason for not wanting to be in a future season of American Horror Story.
“I mean, I haven’t done it for more than 10 years, 12 years, so, no, I’m not doing it.”
As with most of these types of stories, once the initial quote hit social media, fans pulled out their torches and pitchforks. However, this time, it doesn’t seem like that will be necessary. American Horror Story has plenty of talent to choose from. We should spend our time reflecting on the great scenes Lange provided us, not going online to bash a beloved genre actress.
