The producer and star discuss their upcoming slasher film.
Producer P.J. Starks has provided Dread Central with several exclusive images from New Fears Eve, an upcoming slasher film that’s currently raising funds on Indiegogo. You can view the images below along with a proof of concept trailer for the project.
New Fears Eve introduces a new horror icon known as The Doctor, who embarks on a bloody killing spree throughout the city of Owensboro in Kentucky. After setting his murderous sights on the annual New Year’s Eve party at Hopper Industries (a clear nod to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise), The Doctor ensures that the partygoers will be in for a night they will truly never forget. Eric Huskisson is slated to direct the film. Felissa Rose, Dave Sheridan, Hannah Fierman, Lily Claire, Sonya Delormier, and Alyssa Rhoads will star, with Jesse MacDonald playing The Doctor.
Starks previously created the popular Volumes of Blood franchise, in addition to producing films such as Close Calls, 10/31, and 13 Slays Till X-Mas. He is also a huge enthusiast of the horror genre, and we have interviewed him a number of times for this site to discuss his career.
He provided with the following quote about New Fears Eve:
“The script for New Fears Eve is a fun, thrilling, and hilariously bloody ride. Eric and myself are really looking forward to bringing this thing to life. There are some great character dynamics and very memorable kills throughout. I think fans of this sub-genre are really going to love what we’re planning to bring to them.”
On the other hand, actor Dave Sheridan, who previously appeared in films such as Scary Movie and The Devil’s Rejects, is also highly enthusiastic about New Fears Eve, saying:
“I’ve always been drawn to the Plague-doctor masks and would speak about developing a slasher film utilizing that mask- so when Felissa Rose brought this project to me, I was immediately onboard.”
If the Indiegogo campaign reaches its goal, New Fears Eve will be filmed in Owensboro during the first quarter of 2023. A release date has yet to be confirmed.
