Scream VI is slicing through the competition as it climbs its way to the top of the box office. According to Variety, it made $5.7 million in previews. Knowing how many of us are flocking to theaters to see it this weekend, it’s looking like a bad week to have a movie in theaters. Unless the film is called Scream VI, of course.
This installment sees the survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter in New York City.

Scream VI is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. It was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick and based on characters created by Kevin Williamson. It stars Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding.
While all installments of this beloved franchise have done very well financially, this film is on track to become the highest-grossing opening weekend for the series. Part of that success is due to last year’s Scream stabbing us right in the feels and leaving us begging for more.

I knew Radio Silence would give us a good time, but I didn’t expect they would give me everything I wanted and then some. So, I was one of the people that opened my purse the second they announced another film. I’m looking forward to my dollars going to what might be a historical box office weekend. Almost as much as I’m looking forward to seeing who survives this entry. Almost.
