Scream 6 is coming and it is leaving a blood trail along the way according to Melissa Barrera. During a chat with Collider, Barrera went into some exciting detail concerning the next Scream entry. Sure, we might not have Sidney Prescott, but we sure as heck are going to have a lot of gore. In fact, Barrera told Collider that this entry is 100 times gorier than the previous Scream film.
“There was a saying on set because Matt [Bettinelli-Olpin] and Tyler [Gillett] were always asking for more blood and more sweat. They always just wanted more.” Barrera said. “With the last Scream, they were tip-toeing and trying to be very respectful of what the franchise had been, up until that point, and keeping their inner gory dreams at bay. But with this one, they were like, ‘We’re going all out.’ It’s potentially a hundred times gorier.”
You know what? That sounds like a great time to us. Not to mention that this is the first Scream entry to take things out of Woodboro. That’s right, y’all, instead of the spooky little, historically slashy town, we are going to New York for some Big Apple carnage.
The synopsis for Scream (2022) went like this:
Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, Calif., a new killer dons the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
Scream 6 is set to arrive in theaters beginning March 10, 2023.
