Found footage is that girl! So no wonder she seems to be a permanent staple in the horror genre. So, we were very excited to see that a 2023 movie understood the assignment and is now climbing the charts. The #1 thriller on iTunes today is Missing.
In the film, after her mother goes missing, a young woman tries to find her from home, using tools available to her online.

Missing was directed by Nicholas D. Johnson and Will Merrick. It was written by Will Merrick and Nicholas D. Johnson. The script is based on a story by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty. It stars Storm Reid, Tim Griffin, Ava Zaria Lee, Nia Long, and Kimberly Cheng.
It is the first feature for Nicholas D. Johnson and Will Merrick which acts as an anthology sequel to 2019’s Searching.
Many people have rented the film and taken to Twitter streets to ask for more sequels. They’re also shocked by the twists and turns of this movie.

Missing found its way to iTunes early last month. Since then, it has been giving people who missed its brief theatrical run a chance to find out what all of the buzz is about. Check out the trailer below to see if this is the found footage thriller you need this weekend.
We love Storm Reid and Nia Long, so are very happy this movie is killing it on the charts. Here’s hoping we get another movie with that duo that allows them to have more scenes together.
