With Deadpool & Wolverine closing in on its highly anticipated release date, the first look at Logan’s mask has made it to the internet. Barring a leaked concept art, it hasn’t been revealed in any trailer, teaser, or TV spot yet. However, an official promo statue has finally given fans the closest and most detailed look at Hugh Jackman’s yellow and black Wolverine cowl in the upcoming movie.
While people have enjoyed Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine portrayal for over two decades, Deadpool & Wolverine will mark the first appearance of his comic-accurate yellow and blue costume. Furthermore, there’s confirmation that the suit comes with his iconic cowl.
The closest fans got to seeing a yellow Wolverine suit was through a deleted scene in 2013’s The Wolverine. However, @slashbow’s X (formerly Twitter) account recently posted images of life-sized Deadpool & Wolverine statues that are being used to market the film in Japan. The images feature the complete look of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine with his mask on, which can be seen below:
Marvel and Ryan Reynolds officially revealed a maskless Wolverine in 2023. Following that, the first official trailer of Deadpool & Wolverine gave fans a look at Hugh Jackman sporting a sleeveless version of his suit. But, Marvel has been saving the cowl revelation for the end to build anticipation for the film.
While the above statue highlights the detailing on Wolverine’s cowl with white eyes and black horns, it is possible that Marvel will not reveal any footage with it until the movie comes out to surprise fans in the theaters on July 26, 2024.
Besides Hugh Jackman, and Ryan Reynolds in the lead, Deadpool & Wolverine stars Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox, Rob McElhenney as a TVA agent, and several other returning actors from Deadpool 2.
