Max’s Bookie recently drew its curtain on its sophomore season, leaving fans wondering if the show will return with Season 3. Created by Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay, this popular comedy series follows the misadventures of Danny and his friend Ray. Amidst the impending legalization of sports gambling, this veteran bookie fights to survive in the business.
Here’s everything we know about whether Bookie Season 3 is in the works or not.
Is Bookie Season 3 renewed by Max or canceled?
HBO Max has not confirmed the renewal of Bookie Season 3 yet.
Bookie Season 2 concluded very recently, on January 30, 2025, so it is too early to determine the fate of the show. Max has yet to drop any update regarding the renewal of Bookie. However, the odds seem to be in the show’s favor, thanks to the critical acclaim it received at its debut in 2023. Since then Bookie has garnered a considerable fanbase and viewer count, which may further contribute towards its potential return.
Chuck Lorre, the showrunner of Bookie, has given several television hits. These include The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Dharma & Greg, and more. Although Bookie is quite a departure from his usual repertoire, there seems a possibility that Lorre will continue to craft more seasons of this show. Max is also known to be favorable towards its niche content. So, we can hope that Bookie may stick around for another season.
If Season 3 is renewed by the studio, then it will perhaps further explore the dynamic between Danny and Ray as they continue to navigate the challenges thrown at them by the sports gambling scene in LA. But, for now, fans will have to wait for Max to officially greenlight the next season to find out what’s next for the duo.
