Smallville star Allison Mack has finally opened up about her involvement with the alleged sex cult, NXIVM, for which she also served two years out of a three-year sentence. In her podcast appearance on Allison After NXIVM, the 43-year-old former actress revealed that her costar, Kristin Kreuk, was the one who introduced her to the infamous cult.

Allison Mack shared how she became a part of NXIVM, a purported self-help group that has since been accused of being a sex cult. In the first episode of the podcast, released on November 10, 2025, Mack revealed how she came to be a part of the group.
She recalled that her co-star, Kristin Kreuk, was the one who introduced her to it. “We went to Syria and Turkey together, we went to Mongolia together, we went to Paris, and we had so much fun,” Allison recalled about their friendship. “We went to Paris multiple times together and just shopped and saw art and sat on the top of the Pompidou and had rosé and lived this kind of dream,” she added.
They were great friends, and being vulnerable to one another, shared a feeling of deep dissatisfaction. This led Kristin to try out NXIVM, a new self-help organization. Mack recalled what Kreuk told her back then, “It’s the science of joy. It’s the most amazing thing. It’s made everything so much better in my life. You’ve got to do this,” Kreuk said. Mack added, “It was all she could talk about. She was super excited about it.”
Kreuk also talked about NXIVM’s founder, Keith Raniere, and co-founder Nancy Salzman, and asked Mack to join her for a retreat. Soon, it all spiralled beyond control.
In 2018, Allison was arrested as part of an FBI investigation into the organization. She pleaded guilty the following year. She served two years in prison and came out in 2023.
Mack admitted to using her influence and Smallville fame to recruit members for the group. “It was a power tool that I had. I was very effective in moving Keith’s vision forward,” she revealed in the podcast. She remained one of the most influential figures in the group for the rest of its run.
She has also revealed that she does not see herself as innocent anymore. Raniere, meanwhile, received a 120-year prison sentence in 2019.
