The Masked Singer Season 14 Episode 3 reveals Handyman & Scarab’s identities
The Masked Singer Season 14 Episode 3 threw some major curveballs with the reveal of Handyman and Scarab’s true identities.
The night kicked off with a blast of ’90s nostalgia. Snow Cone, Scarab, Handyman, and Pugcasso sang “Kids In America,” the iconic opener from the 1995 cult classic, Clueless. However, Handyman and Scarab found themselves face-to-face with elimination after receiving the fewest votes, thereby prompting a dramatic double unmasking.
In a stunning reveal, Handyman was unmasked as Tone Loc, the iconic rapper behind “Wild Thing,” and Scarab was revealed to be Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson.
Handyman was unmasked first, with Robin Thicke correctly identifying him as Tone Loc. He recognized the rapper’s voice that defined late-’80s and early-’90s hip-hop. Meanwhile, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg went with Chuck D, citing Public Enemy references. Ken Jeong said Mr. T, linking the Ace of Spades imagery to The A-Team’s vibe. Rita Ora opted for Ice-T.
Scarab followed next with Rita Ora correctly identifying Taraji P. Henson, highlighting the “Cookie” clue and Empire connection. However, Thicke had suggested Regina King based on body language. McCarthy-Wahlberg said Angela Bassett, while Jeong’s pick was Cynthia Erivo, citing clues from Broadway and Oscar winners.
Consequently, Taraji P. Henson (Scarab) and Tone Loc (Handyman) join the ranks of Tiffany Haddish, Todd and Julie Chrisley, and David Ortiz as the latest celebrities to have their identities revealed on Season 14 of The Masked Singer.
Viewers can catch The Masked Singer on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. The episodes are also available to stream on Hulu the next day.
