On Saturday night, Ethel Cain’s performance at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Vivid Live festival ended abruptly after the singer collapsed onstage. Video of the moments following the collapse show people rushing to check on her, and fans shared their concern over social media. Cain has now released a statement in an Instagram story viewed by Pitchfork, noting that she’s doing better with an apology to the fans in attendance. She says she plans to continue touring and has already performed a Sunday night show at Sydney Opera House.
“Hi everyone, so sorry I wasn’t able to finish the show last night but all this touring and traveling has finally caught up with me :/ am feeling better today though and am excited for the show tonight!! I promise I will make it up to those of you from last night whenever I can. Thank you

Cain has been touring steadily behind her 2022 album Preacher’s Daughter. She has a few remaining Australian shows this month and a busy festival schedule throughout the year.
