Will Preston’s journey in the music industry kicked off with the release of his project “It’s My Will” under the West King Entertainment label. The project garnered rave reviews and gained recognition across prominent radio stations and websites worldwide. The success of his debut was further boosted by features in various magazine articles and television appearances, which led to distribution and licensing deals in countries such as the UK, Japan, Germany, Spain, Canada, The Netherlands, and more. This solidified “It’s My Will” as one of the most notable independent artist debuts. Fresh off his latest nomination for SoulTracks Male Vocalist of the Year, Will returns with “Merry Go Round,” a captivating and soulful pop ballad that delves into the agony of a relationship teetering between love and despair. The song’s powerful lyrics capture the intensity of a love that refuses to let go, with both partners seemingly asking to stop the ride, yet never willing to step off. Even before his debut release, Will had been making his way into the music scene. Growing up in Virginia, he was always drawn to music. The liner notes of his first release highlight his fascination with his grandmother’s extensive record collection and his childhood dream of one day seeing himself on an album cover—a vision he never lost sight of. After his debut, Will released “Caught In The Act…The LIVE Experience,” a double disc CD/DVD that offered fans a closer look into his artistry, featuring live arrangements of the songs from his debut project. He followed up with “#reacquainted,” collaborating again with Billboard-charting producer Funkeeboy on four tracks, rekindling the magic of “It’s My Will.” This release led to a nomination for Best R&B Male Artist at the Georgia Music Awards. In 2020, Will released “Where Do I Begin?”, a twelve-track collection that showcased an edgier sound while retaining his signature soulful sophistication. Standout singles like “Never Knew Love,” “Let’s Play,” and “The End” continue to receive acclaim worldwide. Recently, Will collaborated with multi-award-winning producer Eric Seats (known for working with Aaliyah, Pharrell, Jay-Z, Lalah Hathaway, and others) on the single “That Good Love,” which debuted at #16 on Amazon’s UK Hot New Releases Chart and featured on Seats’ “Sidiooo Vol. 3” collection. Currently, Will is gearing up to release his next project in April. His natural talent as a lyricist shines in the upcoming set. The first single, “Of Course I Lied,” deviates from the usual themes of mutual love found in his previous releases, telling a story of unrequited love filled with raw emotion and soulful expression. “Of Course I Lied” is already making waves on Spotify and other streaming platforms, setting the stage for what’s to come.
