Talk about a set-down tweet that would light up the internet like a Christmas tree in July! Sanders’ last post is one of the most damaging pins against Musk regarding which jobs in the private sector will vanish with the advent of AI, given that he can currently “barter thousands of federal employees on a whim.” The replies? A big dumpster fire with all sorts of hot takes, insults being hurled, and some pretty crazy stats about unemployment fraud.

So basically, Sanders’ tweet accused Musk of “recklessly creating jobs today, with an even worse prognosis for the future when AI takes over.” He also threw in the classic “oligarch-judge-don’t-give-a-shit-about-you.” But somehow, the general net populace were not having any of it-in fact, not from all angles.
Besides, here’s The Smug CockBlocker with, “Actually he is not firing anybody. He makes suggestions based on evidence, and someone else fires them if they feel it’s needed.” Ha-ha, right there. So Musk is not going to fire anybody? Seriously, how many times has that happened?
Then, the killer response from Ken Lehmann, “Bernie, you have been in office since the declaration of independence and have done nothing for working Americans. Sit this one out, champ.”
And this is scorching.
On and on it goes, with Bernie being put down by CriticalPathy who comment, “You have never had a job or owned a business. Sit down.” Oh, that’s a nice one! Because being a career politician isn’t a job?
Others went with different approaches, like screaming ‘BERNIE !…..YOUZZA BEEOTCH’ which really does nothing but send chaotic vibes. There addresses Kaptain Krunch labeling “hack and has-been” selling out. Hard, but expected.
But the biggest kill came from Libs of TikTok with the stats bomb that goes: ‘Holy Schlit. Seriously, DOGE just exposed some insane unemployment benefits fraud for $382M.’ Apparently, 24.5k people aged over 115 years requested a $59M claim, 28k kids aged 1-5 were awarded $254M, and 9.7k people whose dates of birth are IN THE FUTURE received $69M through fraudulent means. What in the actual fraud is this?
AmeSkIII14 kept it simple: “Hopefully fire you.” Brutally effective. On the opposite front, IssaMe attacked Bernie with, “And what are you even capable of? 40 years of talks, no actions.”
Then there are the “Bernie is the oligarch” people. TgOpines2Day wondered if Bernie’s own riches would make him an oligarch in other countries. Emilija, who called herself a former supporter, charged him with “selling out” to the party that “denied you.” Ouch.
Council Floyd went completely business acumen: “Tell us again, Bernie, how many businesses you have run?” Because apparently you can’t have a problem with capitalism unless you’ve personally bulldozed a couple of startups.
And then there are the random head cases, like LankinT who quips that Musk is “working on AI to replace all of congress” and Bernie is the “beta test” for that replacement. Or Bill Smith calling Bernie senile for not realizing that Musk controls only his own companies.
The funniest part? RhodyJoe accusing Bernie’s account of being “filled with fake users” due to low engagement. Because nothing says “credible take” like a conspiracy theory about Twitter bots.
So, what is the bottom line? Bernie clearly stirred a hornet’s nest with the kind of attack tweet combining mockery, humor, and some bizarre statistics regarding unemployment fraud that shade his integrity in employment. Whatever that person chooses to agree or disagree with him really goes along the lines of thinking he is a “broken record”-sorry again, South Jersey Guy, it doesn’t matter. What does matter is that there shall be no silence.

And this, of course, is the fun of it all: One tweet, a million opinions, zero chill.
