Last night’s red carpet gave us a lot to talk about. From dramatic feather looks to effortlessly glam, barely-there dresses, the stars (and their stylists) really stepped up for the music awards this past Sunday.
We’re positive these celeb-approved styles will be trending throughout the rest of 2026. Each award show’s red carpet has its own particular—often unspoken—dress code. For this particular one, the style was glam drama.
The biggest trend worn last night was definitely feathers. This style can be seen on Lady Gaga, Olivia Dean, Kesha, Tate McRae, and Tyla. They wore big, dramatic dresses with big, dramatic feathers either all over for the full show-stopping effect or trimmed on hemlines for a more subtle look.
Barely-there dresses and deep plunging necklines were another trend from last night’s musical red carpet. This look came in many shapes and sizes, but most of what was worn by the celebs was creamy shades that matched the singers’ skin tones, see-through flowy fabrics held together by delicate straps, and skin, skin, and more skin. Some celebs rocking this look were Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Kehlani, FKA Twigs, Michelle Williams, and Karol G.
We also saw gothic accents incorporated in the stars’ looks that are reminiscent of the upcoming Wuthering Heights film. Whether it’s Bad Bunny‘s tux with its corset details or it’s the black high-neckline lacey dress with matching gloves worn by María Zardoya from The Marias.
