Melissa Gorga went to Instagram with a loving post for her husband Joey Gorga on Father’s Day: “The true definition of a father.” It made viewers’ eyes quickly divert away. The picture painted that snippet of family joy-One in a rich green tank top and white cap-skinny-dipping dad Joey Gorga stood majestically perched between dear sons bateau in turquoise waters under full sun clear blue skies. The setting was made for many million happy memories: Sunshine, love, and everything else that defines a family.

It was short-living, with all that it said: “They are his life! Truly what he lives for and the true definition of the father. He does Family best. Happy Father’s Day @joeygorga We love you so so much.” It felt sincere and opened the gates for an almost overwhelming number of supportive comments from fans, as well as some from reality TV associates.
“He is one of the greatest,” said one. Another comment read, “The G.O.A.T.,” or greatest of all time for those not in the slang. Real Housewives femme fatale Margaret Josephs piped into the festivities, saying, “Happy happy Father’s Day to the best @joeygorga.” So true is Joey’s reputation as a wonderful father, that this is no family portrayal; it would be tantamount to blasphemy to say otherwise from those who really know him.
By now, some comments had strayed from the point. One baffling comment turned bizarrely off-topic, confusing Joey with Sylvester Stallone: “Happy Father’s Day, Sylvester Stallone!” Now, the random nature of that comment might, in fact, have been intentional. Maybe it was the tough-guy aura Joey had going on? Whatever it was, the comment stuck out like a sore thumb amidst very affectionate ones.
A great majority of the comments were applauding the humor and good heart of Joey. “Happy Father’s Day to a funny and amazing pop,” had one comment, and another one talked about how audiences could never get past his charm. “I do love watching you guys parent,” was another that truly indicated that the Gorga family dynamics are something the fans really admire.
That post was just an extension from the Gorga clan. Much love was sent to their “beautiful family,” and one person even dubbed them as “goals.” Do I hear any arguments?
The tribute of Melissa Gorga was perfectly Irish-simple. There was no dark revelation or cryptic sarcasm; just pure appreciation for a man who, really, has done a great job. And amidst a culture that perpetually thrives on the wrong things about celebrity relationships, it’s a breath of fresh air to witness a couple that still openly loves each other (and the kids) sans extra sauce.

Here’s to Joey Gorga-a father and husband, and apparently, inadvertently a Sylvester Stallone look-alike. Until the dad jokes run dry, here’s to plenty of boat trips begging to be postcard-worthy.
