Fans have seen RJ Forrester grow and change, complete with different actors, over the years on The Bold and the Beautiful. However, fans have recently noticed that the character seems to have gone missing. This is all the more notable as they suspected he would have been involved in a recent storyline.
RJ Served As A Love-Interest For Luna On The Bold & The Beautiful
On the soap, RJ, or “R.J.,” standing for Ridge Forrester Jr., is the son of Brooke Logan and Ridge Forrester. The character was introduced in 2004.
In soap opera tradition, the character has occasionally been aged up for the sake of the story, meaning he’s been portrayed by various actors over the years. He was most recently played by Joshua Hoffman. who took over the role from Anthony Turpel.
Notably, RJ has served as a love-interest for Luna Nozawa. With Luna in the middle of recent events on the soap, fans suspected that RJ would have been given more focus.
However, one fan noted the character was surprisingly absent. Taking to social media, the fan asked what was going on.
As the fan wrote, “Guess we’re never going to see him again. He’s completely disappeared. Unusual because I thought they were setting him up for some major storylines back with ‘good Luna.’”
Of course, characters disappearing without explanation is almost a television staple. As the fan joked, “Did he just go lie down for a nap upstairs at Eric’s only to never return? Hahaha.”
However, some fans still felt that RJ could have at least gotten an explanation for his disappearance. Another fan wrote, “Thomas at least got a story about where he is. Poor RJ got a single scene with Zende where they were both just like, ‘Wow, Luna, huh?’”
“And that was it. I don’t think we even got a line from Brooke or Ridge about where he went off to nurse his broken heart.”
Some Fans Suggested Storylines That Could Have Made Use Of RJ
One fan suggested that RJ is just one of various characters that the soap could make more use of. As they noted, “The other biological Forrester/Logan children aren’t on either: Rick, Bridget. Bridget at least has been on as a guest here and there.”
“All three would fit in so so well right now, too. RJ with the Luna storyline. All of them with the takeover storyline. Hope is their sister, and Carter took away control of FC from their fathers. The potential!”
For his part, actor Joshua Hoffman once shared with Soap Opera Digest how he enjoyed working on the soap. At the time, he noted, “It’s been fantastic. The people that I get to work with are incredibly kind; they’re some of the nicest actors I’ve ever been able to work with. And everyone’s just been open and warm and accepting.”
Taking to the comments, other fans shared similar sentiments. A few also suggested other storylines for the character. Some comments included:
- “They just wrote him and Thomas off. I really hated that.”
- “They pretended he didn’t exist for years, and they’re right back to it now. It’s insane that the one Forrester/Logan child holds no possibilities for the writers.”
- “He could have had an amazing story right now being at odds with his father and his sister Steffy. He could also have issues with Hope and Carter taking over the company the way it happened. He most surely would NOT [have] tolerated his father calling Hope names. If the actor playing RJ is not coming back, then it’s time to recast.”
- “I was really hoping to see more of a reaction from him when everyone found out what Luna did, but I guess that happened off screen.”
