Are Bravo fans boycotting the network and furthermore, what would have prompted this? There are new shows coming out regularly and special events to make up for BravoCon skipping a year. Therefore, what are fans saying about the network and why are they struggling with it? Keep reading for more details.
Bravo Fans Boycotting Network?
For years, Bravo fans flocked to the network for a variety of reasons. The Real Housewives franchise seemed to grow by the second which was a huge draw. Even the locations that did not work for more than a season or two still had a cult following. Then, there were shows like Below Deck and its subsequent spinoffs. Plus, Vanderpump Rules, Married to Medicine, Shahs of Sunset, Family Karma, Summer House, Southern Charm, Top Chef, and many more. Sadly, some of these shows have been shelved for various reasons while the hits have been struggling due to casting issues.
With all of these problems, is this making faithful fans rethink their devotion to the network? There is a chance RHONJ will get a complete reboot but that is up in the air. No big decisions are being made just yet but the series has become so toxic that a breather is in order. The same is happening with Vanderpump Rules. There is no talk of a reboot but it is on an indefinite filming hiatus. This caused fans to question if it’s worth watching the network any longer:
- Is this the End of Bravo? No one seems interested in Bravo Fest. All of the best shows are on the decline: VPR, old RHONY, RHNJ and Vicky. I’ve been a Bravo fan since the beginning, it’s not the same.
So, did other followers agree with this sentiment?
- No, it’s not. Things will be rebooted, retooled, retried
- It’s the end because it’s the end of this kind of reality tv.
- VPR averaged 1M viewers an episode last season, and RHOC is great so far. Bravo is also developing new shows. It’s not going anywhere.
- I think it has to be reinvented!
Mixed Emotions
Bravo fans had a lot of mixed emotions. They noted the network has a built-in audience who will remain loyal no matter what goes on. However, there was chatter about how the shows needed to be revamped and refreshed to keep them going and entertaining. That is essentially what is going on behind the scenes. When RHONY was not doing well any longer, they took a break and ultimately decided to give it a new life. Yet, the OG cast was not forgotten via RHUGT RHONY Legacy which did incredibly well. So, if Bravo listens to its viewers and what they want, they could keep their beloved shows going for a long time to come.
