Professional dancer Lindsay Arnold has stepped away from the stage to focus on family life. However, she’s not totally opposed to a major Dancing With The Stars comeback.
Fans last saw Lindsay compete during DWTS Season 30 where she partnered with The Bachelor star Matt James. Afterward, she and her husband welcomed a second child, making her return to professional dance more challenging.
Since Season 32, Lindsay’s youngest sister Rylee Arnold has been a pro dancer on the show. Now, fans frequently spot Lindsay in the audience to support her sister. But she’s not completely ruling out a return to compete.
Lindsay Arnold Might Return When She Feels It’s Time
Long-time Dancing With The Stars fans loved seeing Lindsay Arnold during the Season 33 finale. She appeared in the skybox to proudly cheer on Rylee and Stephen Nedoroscik after they performed.
Rylee performed exceptionally well for her second season, finishing in fourth place. Now, plenty of fans admit they’d love to see the Arnold sisters go head-to-head in the ballroom.
Of course, Lindsay’s return came up during a recent podcast appearance. But when asked, the mother of two admitted she didn’t have a firm plan in place.
“I honestly don’t know, I get asked this so often and I really don’t have an answer,” the Utah dancer admitted. “I feel like it’s got to just be a gut feeling for me. It’s not like a ‘oh they need to offer me this or somebody has to say this for me to do it’ or I have to be promised something. Like it’s not about that in the slightest.”
Ultimately, Lindsay Arnold shared that it’s more about finding a proper balance as a working dancer and mother.
The Dancer’s Family Time Is A High Priority
Lindsay and her husband Sam Cusick share two daughters, Sage, 4, and June, 18 months. Some professional dancers have partners who care for the children during competition season. But that’s difficult for Lindsay’s family to arrange. She acknowledges lots of sacrifices have to take place in order for her to compete on DWTS.
“And those sacrifices include uprooting my family, going to live in L.A. with my two girls,” Lindsay continued. “My husband works full time. It would definitely be a big lifestyle change. It would be taking my daughters away from the things that they’re doing now and just I feel like I would need to feel that drive of like oh it’s 100% worth it to do it. And I haven’t felt that quite yet.”
