Olympic bronze medalist Stephen Nedoroscik was the first confirmed DWTS Season 33 contestant. After competing on the pommel horse during the Paris Olympics, viewers affectionately started referring to him as “Pommel Horse Guy.” Now, he’s trying something completely new to him.
This fall, he will partner with dancer Rylee Arnold in hopes of bringing home the Mirrorball Trophy. Since he’s trying dance for the first time, he thought it was only fair that she try the pommel horse.
After watching the video of Rylee giving the sport a shot, Stephen’s fans realized the pommel horse is much more difficult than they previously realized.
Stephen Nedoroscik Gets Rylee Arnold To Try Something New
Rylee Arnold is an incredibly talented professional dancer. She made her debut on Dancing With The Stars at 18 years old and made it pretty far in the competition with her first celebrity partner, Harry Jowsey.
But is she any match for the pommel horse? Her Season 33 partner gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik wanted to see if she could keep up with him.
“Is @ryleearnold1 the GOAT of womens Pommel Horse?!?? #dwts” Stephen shared on Instagram. He attached a video documenting the situation. At first, Stephen demonstrates some basic skills on the pommel horse before inviting Rylee to give it a try.
As a dancer, Rylee has tremendous athletic ability. She manages to swing her legs fairly high, but ultimately can’t keep up with Stephen’s skills.
“The only way that was possible was cause I had you 🥹😂” Rylee wrote in the comments.
Instagram users loved seeing Rylee give the Olympic sport a shot. Comments included:
- “This is the video we all needed to see to put in perspective how difficult this event is.”
- “It would be awesome if Gymnastics With the Stars was a thing. Teach a bunch of non-gymnasts some basic gymnastics routines. That would be so fun and entertaining to watch!”
- “The level of encouragement Stephen gives throughout this video👏”
- “You are just one of the most positive energy people this world needs right now!! A pure joy to watch! 👏👏🙌🙌”
