Kirsten Storms has been absent from General Hospital for a few months now, especially as she’s been updating fans about her health journey. However, it’s been announced that she’ll be back in Port Charles, complete with a return date. This also comes out as she teased something shocking on the soap.
Kirsten Storms Stepped Away From General Hospital Back In August 2025
Storms started her career as a child actress, appearing in various Disney projects. However, she soon established herself as a soap star after playing Isabella “Belle” Black on Days of Our Lives from 1999 to 2004.
Following this, Storms was then cast in one of her longest-running roles. This was Maxie Jones on General Hospital. She’s also appeared as the character on General Hospital: Night Shift.

However, Storms stepped away from Port Charles back in August 2025. At the time, she was relocating to Tennessee to focus on her daughter and her own health.
As previously reported, the actress was monitoring a brain aneurysm discovered at the start of 2025. This followed her undergoing brain surgery in 2021.
Since then, however, Storms has announced that she would soon be making her return to Port Charles. In a recent Instagram post, she shared, “Boom. 2026 already…that was fast. Back at work!” She also reflected on her daughter, Harper Rose Barash, writing, “Seriously missing my BugBug though. California doesn’t feel right without her here.”
A representative for General Hospital also shared that Storms’ return is right around the corner. According to Soap Hub, her return date is set for February 12, 2026.
The Actress Previously Promised Fans That They Were Going To ‘Freak Out’
Storms’ return also comes out during a dramatic time on the soap. Her character was in a coma, but her supposedly deceased husband, Nathan, as played by Ryan Peavey, resurfaced. During this time, he has grown close to Maxie’s friend, Lulu.
Meanwhile, Maxie’s sister-in-law, Britt, has also returned. In addition, Sidwell, who was responsible for Maxie’s coma, is also keeping Anna hostage.
Back in July, Storms previously teased that things were going to get exciting. She shared, “I promise you the storyline they have going on until my return to Port Charles is kind of incredible. You guys are gonna freak out, actually.”
That said, anything can happen on soaps, especially in Port Charles. Fans will ultimately have to keep watching to see what happens next.
