Survivor Alum & Fan Favorite Dead
When it comes to Survivor, the hit competition reality series has seen its fair share of passing. Sonja Christopher was the oldest woman to compete on the show and passed away in 2024. Rudy Boesch was a beloved member of the show and died in 2019 at the age of 91. His Season 1 co-star, B.B. Andersen, also passed away in 2013 from brain cancer. He was just seventy-seven years old, and these deaths broke the hearts of viewers and fans of the CBS series. It feels like the show has been filled with tragedy as viewers become attached to the contestants. Now, another legend has left this world at the tender age of 71.
Jane Bright from Season 21 has died, per her daughter, Ashley Hammett. Ashley was showcased alongside her mother in a special episode when she came to visit her. Per her social media post, she shared this about Jane:
“Today Jane Bright was found passed away in her home by a good friend and county sheriff.”
This all went down in North Carolina, and friends have since posted tributes to Jane. They have said how she was so kind and an amazing woman. So, to lose her is absolutely devastating. On Survivor, she was small but mighty. Jane was an asset to her tribe, and they remember her fondly. Although she did not win her season, she did win the Sprint Fan Favorite audience prize. This came with a $100,000 prize, which was amazing. One friend posted a sweet memory of Jane along with her show photo.
They were just one of many who flooded social media with love and condolences. Every tribute had so many comments saying how sad they were to hear of Jane’s passing.
