The most recent episode of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras had many controversial moments. Derrick Kosinski’s much-talked-about win over Horacio Gutierrez has overshadowed another pivotal moment from the episode, whether or not Jordan Wiseley threw the daily challenge.
Jordan Wisely Loses The Daily Challenge On Season 40
In the monumental Season 40 of The Challenge, the cast has been broken down into Eras.
During the last episode, the teams participated in the host T.J. Lavin’s favorite game, trivia.
This time with a heights over water twist.
As the Eras answered questions incorrectly, they were dropped into the water below.
Era 4 was the first team to lose all of their competitors, meaning Horacio and Jenny West would automatically go into elimination.
It came down to a tiebreaker between the final two players, Era 2’s Laurel Stucky and Era 3’s Jordan.
T.J. asked Jordan who Devin Walker partnered with during The Challenge: Rivals III season.
Jordan answered, “Sylvia [Elsrode].”
Cory Wharton, Jordan’s teammate, looked shocked that Jordan didn’t recall that Devin’s partner was his ex, Cheyenne Floyd.
With his miss, Laurel and Era 2 won the daily challenge, enabling them to choose which two competitors would face Horacio and Jenny.
Later, Cory and Devin agreed Jordan knew the answer, seemingly alluding he threw the game so Era 3 would not have to make any difficult decisions.
Jordan Wiseley Claims He Was ‘Checked Out’ Of The Trivia Challenge
Jordan recently appeared on the Johnny Bananas, Death, Taxes, and Bananas podcast, setting the record straight about throwing the trivia challenge.
When faced with the question, Jordan doubled down that he truly did not know the answer.
“I truly didn’t know that. However, I had already in my mind checked out and reserved to, ‘I’m good. I’m good.’ I also knew with Aneesa [Ferreira] being down there, that was gonna be very hard,” he said.
He also detailed that if he had won, his choice to throw in Anessa would not have made his Era 3 teammates, Devin and Tori Deal, happy.
While Jordan may not have thrown this trivia game, he and Johnny Bananas did agree that it is okay to do so in general.
He recalled doing so on The Challenge: Free Agents in order to put himself up against Bananas.
The four-time champ asked the GOAT Bananas if he thought it was okay to throw daily challenges, and Bananas said, “100 percent.”
Jordan agreed, saying, “100 percent yes.”
“It’s like watching a football team because they want the first draft pick next year,” Jordan said, adding, “They can’t say they’re doing that because there’s rules.”
“We are doing it for strategy. Nobody had a problem with me throwing the challenge on Free Agents to go against you,” he recalled.
Fans can catch Jordan and Bananas when new episodes of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras air Wednesday nights on MTV.
