“They’re risking their lives to show the world what happened.” A24 has revealed a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Alex Garland’s Civil War movie, his next new action thriller arriving in theaters in April. It’s about a fictional (or not?) civil war in America following a crew of photojournalists on a “road trip” around America. After the two previous trailers for this movie, this preview finally reveals that it’s actually about the journalists and really focused on them, not the details of the civil war and/or why it’s happening. Still not so sure about this concept right now. “It felt immersive and it felt incredibly real, and it was chilling.” The excellent ensemble cast for Garland’s Civil War includes Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Karl Glusman, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonica T. Gibbs, Jess Matney, plus Jesse Plemons. It is a better “come watch this movie” promo than the other trailers, playing up how big and immersive it really is, featuring the entire cast talking about working on it. Fire it up below.
