“Am I a suspect?” “Everyone’s a suspect.” Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a gritty crime thriller titled Reptile, from director Grant Singer, making his first narrative feature film. A mysterious murder. A hardened detective. A truth more dangerous than they could have ever imagined. Nichols, a hardened New England detective unflinching in his pursuit of a strange case where nothing is as it seems, one that begins to dismantle the illusions in his own life. The director says this film has many twists & turns, and you won’t even know where it’s heading next. Benicio Del Toro stars as the detective; he also executive produced and co-wrote the screenplay as well. The cast also features Justin Timberlake, Eric Bogosian, Alicia Silverstone, Domenick Lombardozzi, Frances Fisher, Ato Essandoh, Michael Carmen Pitt, Karl Glusman, & Matilda Lutz. This is premiering at TIFF in September before it shows up on Netflix in October. Reminds me of Prisoners and other tricky crime films with multiple suspects & sneaky characters.
Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Grant Singer’s Reptile, direct from Netflix’s YouTube:
“I think the movie will be exciting to people who like to watch something where you don’t know where it’s leading you, where a film is going to have twists and turns and deceive you. And people who like things that are intense and visceral and suspenseful, I think they’ll find something exciting in this.” –Director Grant Singer
