“I’m telling you, it was a setup… I got a bullseye on my back… Do you see what they’re doing to me…?” Netflix has unveiled a teaser trailer for an upcoming political thriller series called The Madness, streaming starting at the end of November this fall. “You Can’t Escape The Madness.” Honestly an accurate description for most of what’s happening around the world today anyway in so many political spheres. The Madness is a thriller conspiracy series starring the extraordinarily talented Colman Domingo – media pundit Muncie Daniels, who must fight for his innocence and his life after he stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos. Aside from Domingo, the full cast includes Marsha Stephanie Blake, Gabrielle Graham, John Ortiz, Tamsin Topolski, Thaddeus J. Mixson; along with guest stars Deon Cole, Hamish Allan-Headley, Ennis Esmer, Allison Wright, Bradley Whitford, and Stephen McKinley Henderson. This is just a first look teaser so there’s barely 15 seconds of footage to see so far, but it does look pretty slick. I’ll watch pretty much anything that Domingo appears in because he is always damn good no matter what the role is.
Here’s the first look teaser (+ poster) for Stephen Belber’s series The Madness, from Netflix’s YouTube:
Muncie Daniels is a political consultant-turned-TV pundit who may have lost his way in life. While on a work sabbatical in the Poconos to write the great American novel, Muncie finds himself the only witness to the murder of a well-known white supremacist, and now he’s being framed for the crime. Muncie is forced to go on the run in a desperate fight to clear his name and unravel a global conspiracy before time runs out. Along the way he’ll reconnect with his family, find unlikely allies, and fight against disinformation in a post-truth age. The Madness is a series created by Stephen Belber, writer of Match, O.G., What We Do Next, plus the “Tommy” series. With writing by Dana Kitchens and Liz Ellis. And with episodes directed by Jessica Lowrey, Quyen Tran, and Clement Virgo. Executive produced by Stephen Belber, VJ Boyd, Clement Virgo, plus Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Kaitlin Dahill for Chernin Entertainment. Netflix will debut The Madness thriller series streaming on Netflix starting November 28th, 2024 this fall. Who’s curious?
