Fest Recap: Sundance 2024 Podcast Discussion with Aaron Neuwirth
by Alex Billington
February 1, 2024
With the 2024 Sundance Film Festival wrapped up, it’s time for a debrief and recap. Every year for the past few years, I hop on a podcast with my friend Aaron Neuwirth to discuss the festival and the films we watched – comparing notes and opinions. It’s always refreshing to take some time to reflect on the festival, on all of the the films, on the filmmakers, and on the experience of Sundance in January every tear. After 10 intense days of watching, watching, watching, it’s a relief to kick back & chat about what was superb, what was bad, and everything else good about this snow festival and its always intriguing selection of new films. My 2024 recap podcast with Aaron (recorded as a bonus episode of his podcast show “Out Now with Aaron & Abe“) is out now and can be listened to online or via any podcast platform around. I’ve included a Spotify embed below for anyone who wants to listen. It runs a bit long because we have to talk about so many films.
Thanks to Aaron for arranging, editing, and recording this fun podcast discussing Sundance 2024 and our favorite films (and a few films we didn’t like). The podcast is available via Audioboom, including on all the usual services: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon, CastBox, iHeart, and others. Sometimes talking is better than writing. “Enjoy thoughts on some of the more notable films featured, including A Real Pain, Between the Temples, My Old Ass, I Saw the TV Glow, It’s What’s Inside, Kneecap, The Outrun, and more, along with a few documentaries, including Daughters, Girl’s State, Super/Man, and Skywalkers: A Love Story. Plus, we hear about the legendary but mysterious Sasquatch, because why not? So now, if you’ve got an hour or so to kill…” For my full list of Sundance 2024 favorites, head to Letterboxd. This podcast is a bonus episode of the weekly Out Now with Aaron & Abe show (celebrating more than 500 shows already). As usual, if any of these films we discussed sound good, keep an eye out for them when they come your way.
