Full Trailer for Sci-Fi Sequel ‘Code 8: Part II’ Featuring Robbie Amell

“If you just put your hands up, we won’t hurt you.” Netflix has debuted the main official trailer for a sci-fi super-powers thriller sequel titled Code 8: Part II – arriving for streaming at the end of February. This is a follow-up to the 2019 indie sci-fi film Code 8 (watch the trailer), which is actually about people with special powers living in the near future. It does have some pretty nifty looking robots in it, too. This next one picks up where that first movie left off. In a world where 4% of the population are born with abnormal powers & heavily policed by high-tech robotics, an ex-con teams up with the drug lord he despises to protect a young girl with powers. They must confront a highly regarded and well-protected corrupt police sergeant. Action star brothers Robbie Amell and Stephen Amell star in Code 8 Part II, along with Sirena Gulamgaus as Pav, Jean Yoon, Alex Mallari Jr., and Aaron Abrams. The first one wasn’t even released by Netflix, but they must’ve liked it so much they made the sequel. Still hopeful this is a bigger & better improvement.

In this sequel to Code 8, Connor (Robbie Amell) is out of prison and working as a janitor at a community center, having cut ties with his former criminal associate Garrett (Stephen Amell). His attempt at staying out of trouble is destroyed when he’s forced to help 14-year-old Pav (Sirena Gulamgaus) escape from a pack of corrupt officers led by Sergeant King (Alex Mallari Jr.). King uses the newly launched robotic K9’s to track Pav down, while Connor finds himself once again reaching out to Garrett and his crew for help, but can he trust the man who landed him in prison in the first place? Code 8: Part II is once again directed by American filmmaker Jeff Chan, director of the first Code 8 and Grace: The Possession previously, plus other shorts. The screenplay is by Jeff Chan, Chris Pare, Jesse LaVercombe, and Sherren Lee. Produced by Robbie Amell, Stephen Amell, Jeff Chan, Chris Paré, and Steve Hoban. This hasn’t premiered at any fests or elsewhere yet. Netflix will release Code 8: Part II streaming on Netflix starting on February 28th, 2024.
