Hollywood Needs Your Help! ‘Save Comedy’ PSA for ‘The Naked Gun’

“For the price of one movie ticket, and you can help rescue a comedy. And in the process, you’ll get to share a smile, a laugh, and the occasional groan with the people in your very own community. Right now there’s a comedy movie that needs you…” Ha ha. Paramount has debuted a funny fake (or is it?) PSA video for The Naked Gun movie, directed by the comedy mastermind Akiva Schaffer. The video features Liam Neeson trying to convince you to buy a ticket and help save comedies in Hollywood because less & less of them are being made nowadays. (It’s true!) “A Naked Gun for the modern age — only in theatres August 1st.” Watch the full trailer here. Liam Neeson stars in this as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., son of the original Frank Drebin, played by comedy maestro Leslie Nielsen. Joining the case are Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, & Danny Huston. The three original Naked Gun movies are some of the funniest ever made – for real. This PSA video is both a joke and also actually serious – not many good comedies ever open in theaters anymore. So please help save comedy.
