“He’s not just an adaptive athlete, he’s just an athlete.” Abramorama has unveiled the official trailer for a documentary film titled Full Circle, directed by the action sports filmmaker Josh Berman. The trailer was originally debuted by the iconic camera company GoPro – this partnership marks the first time in its 22-year history that GoPro has released third party content through their channels. The film’s actual full title is Full Circle: A Story of Post Traumatic Growth, telling the inspiring story of two mountain lovers who are connected by disability. Full Circle is an unblinking examination of the challenges of Spinal Cord Injury, and a celebration of the growth that such tragedy can catalyze. A story of redemption, perseverance and the triumph of the human spirit, featuring the legendary Sit Skier Trevor Kennison & Jackson Hole legend turned author / community leader Barry Corbet. Looks good. “The honesty & truthfulness with which the creators presented the reality of life with Spinal Cord Injury was a relief. We need films like this.” We do. 🤙

Faced with a traumatic injury that renders you permanently disabled; how would you reinvent yourself? In 2014, at the age of 22, young snowboarder Trevor Kennison’s life was forever altered by a broken back – for worse & for better, in equal measures. Barry Corbet, an intrepid skier, mountaineer, explorer, filmmaker, and Jackson Hole legend, broke his back in a helicopter crash in 1968. Frustrated by a pre-ADA culture that did not accept or support the disabled, Barry reinvented himself, becoming a seminal leader in the disability community. Full Circle follows Trevor on a path towards post-traumatic growth in parallel with Barry, 50 years later. Their stories mirror each other, connected through time & space by locations & motifs; injuries in the Colorado backcountry, rehab at Craig Hospital, fame in Jackson Hole; but also, through their shared resiliency and refusal to let their passion for life be limited by their injuries.
Full Circle is directed by Colorado-based action filmmaker Josh Berman, making his first feature doc after directing many other outdoor/ action sports films over the years. It’s produced by Conor Smith and Roy Tuscany. This initially premiered at the 2023 Santa Barbara Film Festival earlier this year, and won the 1st Place Audience Award at the 2023 Breck Film Festival. There will be a special Denver screening on October 26th, 2023 this month – hosted by Eddie Bauer at the SIE Film Center, and a Q&A with Trevor Kennison. Abramorama opens the Full Circle doc in select US theaters (NY only to start) on October 20th, 2023, then expanding to LA, Canada and multiple US cities on October 27th this fall.
