“Humans are the greatest weakness in any security system.” Peacock has revealed an official trailer for a film called Bosco, a prison escape thriller based on a true story. Finally something that might just live up to the classic Escape from Alcatraz! Hopefully. Based on the true story of Quawntay “Bosco” Adams, who also produced the film. Sentenced to 35 years for attempted possession of marijuana, Adams miraculously escaped from a Federal maximum-security prison in 2006 while under 24-hour surveillance in solitary with the help of a woman he met through a lonely-hearts ad. This features a compelling cast including Aubrey Joseph as “Bosco”, Nikki Blonsky as “Tammy”, Tyrese Gibson as “Tootie”, Vivica A. Fox as “Willa”, Theo Rossi as “Ramos”, and Thomas Jane as “Hunt”. Bosco will feature original music from leading hip-hop artists, including Snoop Dogg, French Montana, The Game, DDG, & more. Looks solid though probably not a new prison escape classic. I’m still very, very curious to see how he got out – what he did to sneak out.
Here’s the first official trailer for Nicholas Manuel Pino’s Bosco, direct from Peacock’s YouTube:
“Prisons aren’t inescapable. They’re just meant to feel that way.” In 2006 over 2 million Americans were incarcerated but only one managed to escape from a federal maximum-security wing while under 24-hour surveillance – Quawntay “Bosco” Adams (played by Aubrey Joseph). For the chance to be at his first child’s birth, he planned an ingenious escape with the help of a lonely Missouri woman that he meets by replying to a personal ad. Bosco is directed by the Chilean-American writer / filmmaker Nicholas Manuel Pino, making his feature directorial debut after a number of other shorts previously. The screenplay is also written by Nicholas Manuel Pino, adapted from the memoir “Chasin’ Freedum” by the real Quawntay Adams. It’s produced by Patrick McErlean, Darryll C. Scott, Justin Steele, and Quawntay Adams. Peacock debuts Pino’s Bosco film streaming on Peacock starting February 2nd, 2024 coming soon. Looking good? Who’s down?
