What Is ‘Across The Spider-Verse’ About?
Following the events of ‘Into the Spider-Verse’, Miles Morales is struggling to find ways to balance being Spider-Man and his home life. He reunites with Gwen Stacy, traversing into the multiverse, and meeting a slew of Spider-People including Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 (voiced by Oscar Isaac).
The spider-gang clashes on how to handle a new threat, and Miles finds himself pitted against Spider-Man 2099 and the other Spider-people. Chaos ensues and it’s a mad dash across the multiverse as Miles is warned that “Being a Spider-Man is a sacrifice.”
The trailer introduces The Spot (Jason Schwartzman), who has the ability to use and move through portals, and is the newest threat to our hero. Miles teams up once again with Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy to restore the multiverse balance.

All The Spider-People
We have already met plenty of Spider-People in ‘Into The Spider-Verse’, and the dial is turned up for the sequel when we enter “The Lobby”, where all Spider-Man and Spider-Woman variants can travel to and interact with one another. Aside from Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman (voiced by Issa Rae) and Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099, we also catch a glimpse of Spider-Punk (voiced by Daniel Kaluuya) and Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India.
Additionally, other web-slinging variants such as Spider-Horse, Spinneret, and Mayday Parker, the child of Peter Parker and Mary Jane can be spotted in the trailer. To delve further into the multiverse, Miguel O’Hara makes a reference to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man from ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home‘ with his line “Doctor Strange and the little nerd on Earth-19999.” as well as a very well-utilized Spider-Man pointing meme.
‘Across the Spider-verse’ is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson, and Kemp Powers. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller return as screenwriters as well as producers for the sequel. The multiverse sequel swings into theaters June 2nd, 2023.
