Viral Teaser Trailer for ‘Late Night with the Devil’ TV Broadcast Horror

“Tune in, freak out.” IFC Films has uneveiled the first short teaser trailer for acclaimed indie horror thriller Late Night with the Devil, made by Australian filmmakers Cameron & Colin Cairnes. This originally premiered at last year’s SXSW Film Festival, playing at tons of other festivals around the world last year. A live television broadcast in 1977 goes horribly wrong, unleashing evil into the nation’s living rooms. Presented in a found footage style. Set in the 1970s, the film follows charismatic late-night host Jack Delroy (genre iconoclast David Dastmalchian), who in an effort to boost the ratings of his once hugely popular “Night Owls”, has invited an eerie tableau of guests for his Hail Mary of an occult-focused Halloween broadcast. IFC has this set to open in March, so keep an eye out for it. David Dastmalchian stars as host Jack Delroy, with Laura Gordon, Ingrid Torelli, Ian Bliss, Fayssal Bazzi, and Rhys Auteri. The early word is that this film is fantastic, another unique horror concept to enjoy this year when it’s released.

Dastmalchian stars as Jack Delroy, the host of a fictional 1970s variety and late-night talk show titled Night Owls with Jack Delroy. The film purports to be derived from a rediscovered master tape of an episode from the show’s 6th season, broadcast on Halloween 1977; during this live television broadcast, havoc unfolds when Delroy interviews a parapsychologist (Laura Gordon) and the subject of her recent book, a young teenager (Ingrid Torelli) who was the sole survivor of a Satanic church’s mass suicide. Late Night with the Devil is written and directed by the Australian filmmaker brothers Cameron Cairnes & Colin Cairnes, together directors of the films 100 Bloody Acres and Scare Campaign previously, along with the Warren and Hal series a few other shorts. Produced by David Dastmalchian, Derek Dauchy, Mat Govoni, Roy Lee, John Molloy, Steven Schneider, Adam White. This initially premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival last year with stosp in London & Sitges. IFC Films will debut the Cairnes’ Late Night with the Devil in select US theaters + on VOD starting March 22nd, 2024 coming soon. Who’s intrigued to watch?
