“The question is: do you have it in you to make it epic?” YES! Witness! Warner Bros has unveiled the first look teaser trailer for Furiosa, George Miller’s highly anticipated follow-up to the sensational action classic Mad Max: Fury Road (from 2015). This trailer launched at the CCXP comics expo event happening in Brazil this week, with appearances from Miller & the cast there. This action prequel tells the origin story of the renegade warrior Furiosa before she teamed up with Mad Max. It was shot again in Australia in 2022, and is being readied for a release in May 2024 to kick off next year’s summer movie season. Anya Taylor-Joy stars as a younger Imperator Furiosa, the same Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. It also stars Chris Hemsworth as Dementus, Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, Quaden Bayles, Daniel Webber, and Lachy Hulme. Worth the wait – this looks mad brilliant and bonkers badass!! Everything I was hoping to see, with as much gnarly, sandy, awesome action-packed footage as expected. Bring on 2024.
Here’s the first official trailer (+ CCXP poster) for George Miller’s Furiosa, direct from WB’s YouTube:
As the world falls, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and into the hands of a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. While two Tyrants battle for dominance over the Citadel, Furiosa survives many trials as she plots a way back home through the Wasteland. Furiosa is directed by the acclaimed Australian filmmaker George Miller, director of the movies Mad Max, The Road Warrior, Max Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome, The Witches of Eastwick, Lorenzo’s Oil, Babe: Pig in the City, Happy Feet 1 & 2, Max Max: Fury Road, and Three Thousand Years of Longing previously. The screenplay is by Nick Lathouris and George Miller. Produced by Doug Mitchell and George Miller. Warner Bros will release Miller’s Furiosa in theaters worldwide starting on May 24th, 2024 next summer. Ready to roll? Who’s in?
