Laura Meadows Packs a Punch in High-Stakes Thriller Blood Before Bitcoin on Amazon Prime | HNN

Indican Pictures is thrilled to announce the official release of Blood Before Bitcoin, a gripping thriller written and directed by Nicholas Arena, now streaming on Amazon Prime. Led by a powerhouse performance from Laura Meadows, the film delivers an intense story of survival, betrayal, and female resilience.

The Story

Myrna (Laura Meadows) left her violent past behind and built a quiet new life running a roadside motel with her boyfriend, Floyd (Jacob Young). But the past doesn’t stay buried. When her old gang rolls in with a mysterious Bitcoin heist, Myrna’s motel becomes the center of a dangerous game. Old grudges resurface, jealousy simmers, and betrayal waits behind every door. To protect the life she fought so hard to build, Myrna must face the people who once followed her—and prove she’s still the toughest one in the room. As the film’s tagline warns: “Never underestimate a woman. It could be your final mistake!”

An All-Star Ensemble Cast

The film features an exceptional ensemble cast bringing this high-stakes standoff to life:

• Laura Meadows as Myrna
• Jacob Young as Floyd
• Andrew James Jones as DJ
• Nicole Cinaglia as Lena
• Daniel Fitzgerald as Rollo
• Jim Hackett as Benny

Power, Strength, and Real-Life Inspiration

Blood Before Bitcoin stands out for its raw, unfiltered depiction of female empowerment. Meadows brings a fierce physicality to the role, performing intense stunt and fight sequences that challenge traditional action tropes.

“I am proud to have created a movie about strong women,” says star Laura Meadows. “Myrna actually slugs it out with men and women alike. When I was filming the fight scene with the truck driver, he said, ‘Come on, I can take it!’ He was actually wrapped in pillows so he wouldn’t get hurt! There’s also a strong female foe I had to slug it out with. Not that I’m advocating violence, but women are large and in charge in Blood Before Bitcoin. I’m proud of the whole team for portraying women in roles of power, strength, and intelligence.”

Meadows credits her fierce performance to a deeply personal source of inspiration. “I drew inspiration from my great-aunt, Iona Aileen Meadows Hatch, a strong hillbilly woman from the Ozarks who was kind and generous to family but mean as a barrel of snakes if you crossed her,” Meadows shares. “She was a Senior Olympics champion who won so many awards, year after year, and she even appeared on The David Letterman Show to celebrate her accomplishments. I dedicate my performance, and the inspiration behind it, to her.”
