There are some hugely anticipated titles that came to streaming this past week for you to enjoy during your weekend. From slashers to psychological horror, these movies will prepare you for the witching season just a few days away!

Backrooms on HBO Max September 25, 2026

Backrooms is a psychological horror movie that will leave you asking yourself “What the hell did I just watch?”

The movie is directed by Kane Parsons (aka Kane Pixels), and co-written with Will Soodik. The concept originated with Parsons’ YouTube series of the same name. The young filmmaker created the horror web series at just 16 years old. Four years later Parsons achieved monumental success with the debut of his first feature film.

Backrooms follows Clark (Chiwetel Ejiofor) as he explores his failure of a life with his therapist Dr. Mary Kline (Renate Reinsve). A failed architect, a failed husband, and now the owner of a failing discount furniture store, Clark has nothing left. However, a door is about to open that changes the direction of where he is going. 

In the basement of his store Clark finds an extradimensional world filled with endless rooms. These rooms sporadically lead from one to another. As he discovers one after another, he discovers they come in a variety of forms and sizes. There is no type of rhyme or reason. However, Clark’s fascination is soon replaced by fear as something begins to hunt him as he explores deeper inside the walls. 

American Horror Story: 13 on Hulu September 24, 2026

The longly awaited 13th season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s American Horror Story  has finally arrived on Hulu to ravenous fans. The series will be painfully released in weekly installments leading up to the finale on October 29, 2026.

Fans have been anticipating the latest season since the announcement. Season 13 will be a major crossover from the past twelve seasons and mythologies that thread them together. Returning legacy stars Evan Peters, Jessica Lange, and Sarah Paulson also have fans salivating at the mouth.

The thirteenth season revolves around a battle at the gateway of hell among those who are trying to open it, and those who wish for it to remain closed. Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, and Emma Roberts also make a return to the latest sinister season.

Bloody Tennis on Shudder September 25, 2026

Bloody Tennis is both written and directed by filmmaker Nikias Chryssos.

The supernatural horror movie explores the competitive world of tennis among a group of young women who are hungry to be the best at the sport. Sophie (Sandra Guldberg Kampp),  a young and naive American, is enrolled into an elite tennis academy in Southern Europe. However, the group of girls she is training and living with isn’t the sorority experience she expected. Additionally, there is something that doesn’t feel quite right about those undertaking their training. 

Coach Stavkos (Zlatko Burić) and director Mary (Elina Löwensohn) who run the prestigious program push the girls to their absolute limits, under any means necessary. Morals are inhibited and even aspects of their humanity are shed as the techniques they use surpass the untraditional into the grotesque. 

Will Sophie’s ultimate goal of greatness in a sport she loves consume her with a hunger that has newly been awakened?

The 3 Killer Pigs in Select Theaters September 25, 2026

In an era where childhood fairytales are being made into horror movies at an alarming rate, another is about to be added to the list. Surprisingly, this newest addition is not by writer and director Rhys Frake-Waterfield who began the movement with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey. Rather, writer and director Thomas J. Churchill is continuing the trend with his newest movie based on the Three Little Pigs fable, appropriately titled Three Killer Pigs.

Three Killer Pigs is what happens when a desperate farmer trying to reclaim his livestock combines murder and a blood pact. The resulting consequences create three blood thirsty, monstrous hogs. And when these piggies return to the farmhouse where they are seeking their revenge, everyone inside is fair game for the slaughter. 

If you don’t want to see Three Killer Pigs in theaters, there is only a short wait until they arrive on VOD October 23, 2026.

Buzzkill on Tubi September September 25, 2026

Director Jem Garrard and writer Suzanne Keilly are the minds behind the absurd comedy-horror Buzzkill, a Tubi Original.

Initially you may think you’ve seen this movie before. Sorority Girls, a party during rush week, and a masked killer on the loose. This is your typical equation that results in a run of the mill slasher. However, this is not that movie.

Buzzkill is a horror-comedy about a final girl who does not uphold the moral standards you are used to seeing in a survivor. In fact, it is through a night of drinking that party girl Nora (Siena Agudong) has to unlock her previously hazy memories that lead to the identity of a killer. Will Nora’s night of debauchery help catch the killer who is looking to kill the girls of Stigma Sorority?
