In the early morning hours of May 21, a night vision nature camera captured something very creepy walking in a field next to an Amarillo, Texas zoo. The image has since gone viral but no one has yet to figure out what it is.
Amarillo’s official social media page posted the picture and posed this question: “Is it a person with a strange hat who likes to walk at night? A chupacabra? Do you have any ideas of what this UAO- Unidentified Amarillo Object could be?”
Zoo employees were reviewing the previous night’s footage when they came across the strange creature apparently walking across a section of open field just beyond the zoo parameter.
Michael Kashuba, the parks and recreation department director for the city of Amarillo says he was presented the picture by a staff member: “Nobody could figure out what it was.”
With no clue as to what the biped could be, Kashuba decided to take it to the court of public opinion. “And so, that’s where we decided to kind of reach out to our community to see if there was any thoughts on what it could potentially be,” he said.
Of course social media went crazy for the picture and offered up many explanations. Everything from Sonic the Hedgehog to Guardians of the Galaxy rebel Rocket the Racoon was proposed. Some even went so far as to suggest the paranormal.
“Clearly a Skinwalker phasing between two densities/dimensions and what better place but the Zoo. I mean. DUH,” one Twitter wrote.
Kashuba says there was nobody at the facility at the time and no animals were harmed. However the photo is a curiosity with no explanation.
Could it be a person wearing a large hat? Maybe a strange animal that walks on two feet? Or is it even human at all?
