American Idol Season 24 unveils top five contestants
American Idol Season 24 entered its Taylor Swift era as it covered the battle to make it to the top five in the contest. Seven contestants faced off in a round of performances dedicated to Swift.
Taylor Swift superfan Nikki Glaser joined the panel of judges for the night, alongside Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood.
All seven contestants performed a song by Swift. Jordan McCullough performed a version of “Tim McGraw,” Chris Tungseth performed “Exile,” Hannah Harper sang “Mean,” Brooks Rosser performed “Love Story,” Daniel Stallworth did a version of “Fearless,” Keyla Richardson did a rendition of “Lover,” and Braden Rumfelt sang “Cardigan.”
After this round, the contestants also sang a second song inspired by California.
All the performances were great, but only five contestants could make it through to the next stage.
Brooks Rosser, who performed Taylor Swift’s “Love Story,: was one of the contestants to say goodbye to the stage. Daniel Stallworth, who had been excellent up to this point, became the second contestant to be eliminated from the top seven.
So, Jordan McCullough, Chris Tungseth, Hannah Harper, Keyla Richardson, and Braden Rumfelt have all made it to the top five of American Idol Season 24.
Things will only get more intense from here on as the five finest contestants fight for a spot in the top three.
Monday’s episode of American Idol will bring back several familiar faces from the Class of 2006 and will also reveal the top three contestants of the season.
