General Hospital star Steve Burton’s custody battle with his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin, saw new developments. Court documents allege that Gustin does not consider Burton’s new wife and her children to be “family.” The legal feud also revealed that Burton had signed a three-year contract with GH and moved back to California permanently.

TMZ reported that Burton said that Gustin is making the legal feud difficult and has slammed his new wife in front of her daughter, Brooklyn. In the new documents obtained by the outlet, Burton said that his ex-wife told Brooklyn that his new wife and her kids are not considered “family.” Moreover, he claimed that Gustin deleted all the messages that their daughter received from her stepsisters.
Burton further claimed that Gustin was filling Brooklyn’s head with false claims, including that he and his new wife were “brainwashing” her. He alleged that the situation has left Brooklyn afraid to speak openly during calls and even led her to delete messages to avoid upsetting her mother. In the documents, the GH star also claimed that his ex-wife harbors anger against his new wife. He cited that the reason for their split was “affair and pregnancy outside the marriage.”
Burton is also seeking an order that would allow Brooklyn to communicate with him freely without interference and use her phone while she is with her mother.
On May 17, Burton married chef and content creator Michelle Lundstrom in a private church ceremony. It was followed by a reception in Laguna Beach, California. At the time, he told PEOPLE, “This day isn’t just about a ceremony. It’s the beginning of forever with the love of my life.”
In February, Burton announced that he was taking a temporary break from GH. He cited the reason as being newly married and wanting to spend time with family.
