A fan-favorite Invincible villain is seemingly set to return to the series, as the voice actor behind the character appeared to confirm. He seemingly backtracked on his earlier comments, stating he wasn’t reprising his role. The character earlier debuted in the middle of the third installment’s run. Harboring a personal vendetta against the titular protagonist, he positioned himself as one of the latter’s most formidable opponents.

Aaron Paul confirms Invincible return as Powerplex
Aaron Paul seemingly confirmed his return to Invincible as the villain Powerplex on social media.
The Breaking Bad alum recently shared a black-and-white photo on his Instagram stories. It showed the opening page of the series’ script on the table. “Some light reading,” he captioned the image.
Previously, Paul shared that he wouldn’t be reprising his role as Powerplex for Season 4, while also revealing the reason. Several months ago, on the Kinda Funny Games podcast, the Westworld star — who shared his love for the show — said that voicing the character and getting into his mindset felt taxing and made him uncomfortable.
He added, “What it did to me, I didn’t like, and so I couldn’t continue.”
It’s currently unclear what prompted Paul to change his mind. However, a fan, who replied to the above post, suggested, “That mentally exhausted thing really was just ‘give me more money, and I’ll keep doing’ negotiating talk lol.”
Powerplex a.k.a. Scott Duvall debuted in Invincible Season 3 Episode 6, “All I Can Say Is I’m Sorry.” It explored his tragic backstory and motivation to kill Mark Grayson. A flashback revealed that he lost his sister and niece to the devastation caused by Omni-Man and Invincible’s battle in Chicago during the Season 1 finale. Traumatized by their loss, he became mentally unstable and fixated on not only getting revenge on Mark but also justice for all lives lost during the incident.
Later, he accidentally killed his wife and son while trying to lure Invincible to a fight. Instead of accepting responsibility and acknowledging his recklessness, he shifted the blame to the latter, strengthening his existing grudge.
Powerplex returned in the subsequent episode, “What Have I Done?” Alongside the heroes, he participated in the war against the evil Invincible variants, even killing one of them. Following its conclusion, he encountered the main version and tried to kill him. However, he was stopped by the latter and Kid Omni-Man before being taken away by the authorities.
